About

MyOrlandoFix

This site is primarily to give readers an up-to-date view on the Orlando parks alongside analysis of these developments. In addition, this site publishes articles which are topical in the theme park community which do not use 'theme park jargon' making it easy for casual and non-enthusiast readers to understand.

Furthermore the aim of this blog, its pages and I, is to help theme park visitors; both new and experienced, to help plan their visits to these parks. Details of how to contact me with any specific questions can be found on the 'Need help planning?' page.

Why Oswald?

I've chosen Oswald the Rabbit to be the current avatar for two reasons. Firstly, Oswald the Rabbit was designed by Ub Iwerks (creator of Mickey Mouse) but was initially owned by Universal Pictures which prompted the creation of Mickey Mouse. Currently, Disney owns the rights to Oswald. However, it is the connection of both Universal and Disney of Oswald which also forms the basis of this blog; to cover aspects of both Disney and Universal parks, and in a wider sense the Orlando parks.  Secondly, Oswald is an icon of modesty - which currently epitomises this blog.

Who?

I am currently a University student in the UK. Having visited the Orlando theme parks frequently in the past ten years, a passion for the theme parks inevitably developed. During this time I have tried to read every piece of literature about the parks, followed countless blogs and theme park enthusiast websites. It struck me that besides the official press releases from the parks themselves, a lot of theme park websites devoted to trip planning include a lot of jargon that only enthusiasts would understand. As a result, I started this blog hoping to appeal to trip planners and theme park lovers of all backgrounds.

Thanks for reading!
